Gerald Thomas “Hoser” Hollern, 57, Altoona, died Thursday at UPMC Altoona.
He was the son of the late Patrick Hollern and Barbara (Boston) Hollern Figliola.
Surviving are two daughters: Samantha Hollern of Altoona and Tabitha L. Brown and husband, Scott, of McComb, Miss.; six grandchildren: Chad, Owen, Adam, Bailey, Aidan and Riley; a brother, Donald “Bear” of Altoona; a very special cousin, Karen Boston of Altoona; and his stepfather, Donald Figliola.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony Patrick Purdin.
Gerald had worked at Saf-T-Bak for 16 years and retired from the Pepsi Bottling Co. warehouse as a loader. He enjoyed writing, reading, Pittsburgh Steelers football and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
