Rocco Alianiello (Alianiello)
Greeting Classmates,
I hope this finds everyone doing well. As I write this, our class is 333 days away from celebrating TOGETHER our 50th High School Reunion from our beloved AAHS. We have just turned another page by saying goodbye to the summer of 2024 and welcoming in the fall of 2024. It's hard to believe that we did that 50 times since we graduated. In between 50 season changes, 50 birthdays, 50 Super Bowls, 50 Halloweens, Thanksgivings and Christmases, etc, etc.......we have built lives, created lives, lost loved ones, succeeded, failed, loved and lost love........but we have done all of that and we are still standing. Maybe not as straight or with a little less hair a little more wrinkles and more gray hair but we have gained a lifetime of experience and stories to share with each other when we get together August 22nd, 23rd and 24th 2025.
Here is a brief recap of what to expect for our REUNION WEEKED. Please note, I said BRIEF, I'm saving all the details for a later date (or maybe you have to attend to find out all the great surprises that we have in store)
Friday August 22nd Class BBQ prepared by talented classmates, Paul Adler and Clark Hammaker at beautiful and spacious pavilions at our Lakemont Park, home of our After-Glo. Live music by classmate, Rick Wertz and his musical duo, Silver Linings. Plenty of casual activities i.e. cornhole, horseshoes, mini golf, basketball courts (NO competitive games please, we don't want any old people injuries) Plenty to eat and drink (drinks supplied by BYOB)
Saturday August 23rd A late mornig class meeting at the "50" yard at Mansion Park for a pretty cool surprise. Then off to the new High School for a guided tour of the new school complex, High School, Junior High, Sports Gymnasium and Intramural facilities. Reunion activities continue at the Blair County Convention Center for an evening of Food Stations, Open Bar, Video Presentations, life stories from classmates (anyone is welcomed to take the microphone and share a story}, Door prizes, Basket Raffles ( or drawings) and just a magical evening of reconnecting
Sunday August 24th Meet for Breakfast at The Dream then meet again at the PNG Ballfield to watch our Altoona Curve PLAY BALL
Thats the agenda for the weekend........except for ONE VERY IMPORTANT PART.........we need YOU to attend.......the more classmates that get together, the more magic will be created. Cost is not an issue. There will be a very nominal ticket price.....BUT because we want everyone to attend, ticket price can be waived. I'll explain later how so no one else will know. We want YOU to attend and will remove any obstacles, money, transportation, etc. we will make it work.
In order to keep ticket prices very affordable, we have been blessed with MANY classmates making donations to our class fund. If you are able to donate, Here are the ways:
1. Send check payable to AAHS Class of 1975 to:
342 Bel Aire Road
Hollidaysburg, PA 16648
2. Get on our website www,altoonaarea1975.com On the home page , there is a menu selection "Donations"
We now accept credit card donations through the website
3. I have set up a VENMO account (I know, I know....its very easy though) Thanks to Jamie Pescatore for that idea.
VENMO APP @roccoaahs1975 Its so easy that John Gallace successfully donated through this method
Thank you in advance for donating....every bit of all donations are used for this REUNION
Until next time, my friends........don't sweat the little things.......continue to be kind, help when you can, only allow positive words to leave your lips......once they are out, you can't bring them back.
